Tiny Hike Grassroots Co-op

On our Tiny Hikes this month we have met new friends who joined us as we looked for different mushrooms, explored the texture of moss, and found different types of lichen. We enjoyed a nature walk on National Hiking Day. On our last scheduled outdoor adventure, we are going to check out the DelCarte Conservation Area in Franklin, Mass.  

  Tiny Hike @ Hopkinton State Park November Events   Starting this month we will be following along with the weekly themes from Exploring Nature With Children by Lynn Seddon. All nature walks are child-lead so the activities will be adjusted to be age appropriate for the participants. Tiny Hike encourages a wild learning experience for all ages!  Wednesday Nov. 3rd at 10am - Acorn Mushrooms Tuesday Nov. 9th at 10am - Moss Monday Nov. 15th at 10am - Lichen Wednesday Nov. 17th at 10am - National Hiking Day Wild Play Saturday Nov. 27th at 10:00am - StoryWalk at DelCarte Conservation Area in Franklin

For the Tiny Hike Scavenger Hunt we supplemented our nature walk with these print-outs. One to build on the word bank and the other we used as a map of things to look for. We made some surprising finds like a beetle and oak gall!
